Glory  Tabernacle (then Bridgeton Miracle Revival Tabernacle) began in the  Autumn of 1959 under the Founding Pastor,  Bishop Thomas James Carter, Sr.  The first meeting was held on Manson Avenue, the home of Deacon Eddie Timmons.  This infant church soon rented a  building on Burlington Road and continued to grow.  Some of the founding members were Sister Annie Jones, Sister Mary Guest, Sister Inez Golson, and Sister Sadie Rogers.  The South Avenue  property was purchased and Bishop Carter moved his family into the parsonage (the building located next door to the South Avenue sanctuary).

In 1965 Bishop Carter resigned and a young Elder Arvin James Hall, Sr.  Became the Pastor of Bridgeton Miracle Revival Tabernacle.  The church continued to grow and became Established.  Some noteworthy achievements / events include the following:


¨ Preaching concepts “Get Off Welfare,” and “Buy Your  Own Home”

¨ Countywide Bus Ministry

¨ Church Membership moved to the Buckshutem Road site in 1987

¨ A 1000-seat sanctuary added to the Buckshutem Road site

¨ Name of Church officially changed from Bridgeton Miracle Revival Tabernacle to Glory Tabernacle in January 1994

¨ Tent Revivals, Outdoor Meetings, Adopt A Block

¨ Purchased the Route 49 property and the Glory Tabernacle Family Life Center, Inc. was established.


Pastor David Adam Hadley, Sr. became the Pastor of Glory Tabernacle on March 29, 2003 when Bishop Hall went home to be with the Lord.  Now, our Presiding Pastor believes that God wants to use Glory Tabernacle to take His people to another level of “Glory.”  Such changes include the following:

¨ Redesigned the organization of Church Leadership

¨ Substance Abuse and Victorious Living was renamed, Frank T. Cupe Victorious Living Ministry and weekly meetings are held

¨ Church mortgage paid-off and burned

¨ Redesigned and redecorated the sanctuary, bathroom and hallways

¨ Three new buses and three vans purchased

¨ Projection system including three cameras purchased and installed

¨ Billboard advertising initiated on Route 49

¨ And the best is yet to come!


Now Glory Tabernacle has celebrated more than 50 in Ministry.  In those years, Glory Tabernacle was founded, established and presently continues in its mission to Fight Sin & Sickness, Winning the Lost because It’s All About Jesus!
